for joining us here on the ktvu morning news. it's friday, july 29th i'm dave clark. >> and i'm pam cook. >>> we have developing news to tell you about. this is coming from oakland. a firefighter was hurt minor injuries battling an early morning fire. jade hernandez has been out there. she is talking to investigators. any idea on how this fire started and where are you? >> no, they don't have an idea just yet. firefighters do know where this fire started. firefighters are still out here at the point and the fire started in this brick building you see right here. it says california electric company on the front of it. this one alarm fire had two extra engines pulled in including one from emery vail. one firefighter was hurt. we understand he may have caught his hand on a window. we want to take you inside this building right here. the fire broke out near 30th and adalin at a building that says california electric company. the chief told us it was secured so -- so well it was hard to gain access. they have an investigator out here. they are looking into whether or not this was an accidenta

. >> and i'm dave clark. let's check in with steve. >> 60s, 70s, there'll still be more fog at the coast. i don't think it'll be as windy as yesterday. now here's an update on the traffic with sal. >> things are moving pretty nicely at the coliseum. it's moving along well all the way to downtown oakland. and the traffic looks gook on the san mateo bridge. >>> the man hunt continues for someone who opened fire on an officer. jade hernandez is live where the search is focused. >> reporter: we're right at the gate to moraga park. police are going to be looking for suspects of a shooting and for evidence of a possible marijuana grow operation. last night around 6:30, an east bay regional parks police officer on foot found himself under fire near upper san leandro. the officer returned fire, the officer could not tell if he hit anyone but he took cover. the search for suspects continued until around 10:00 last night within the park. a helicopter in the sky and officers from five different law enforcement agencies including the contra costa sheriff's office and the sheriff's patrol could not find

>>> grooming to you. welcome to "mornings on -- garning 20 you. i'm dave clark -- good morning to you. i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's tuesday, july 5th. >>> mike martin vanished on saturday possibly while on 5 bike ride. just a short time ago, allie rasmus spoke to the missing man's girlfriend. >> reporter: good morning. the friends and family of 9- year-old mike martin believe -- 9-year-old mike martin believe he may have gone on a bike ride. you can see there are a number of bicyclists getting ready to start their morning ride. the reason why his family says this is where they believe he went is because another biker found his cell phone on the side of the road. that was more than two days ago. martin has not been seen since saturday afternoon. mike martin is 9 years old, he's 6 feet tall with brown hair and brown eyes. now, when we spoke to his girlfriend, she said she's also concerned because she found out that martin had recently been doing some search on how to fast and do juice die diets. >> if he was going down a windy road at the pace that he usually does,

" begins right now. >>> well, good morning to you. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm claudine wong. tori campbell has the day off. it's wednesday, july 27th. >>> it could still be a while before an interstate 880 offram reopens. that's because police are still investigating the accident there. ktvu's paul chambers has been there all morning long and has more on what led up to the crash. >> reporter: good morning, claudine. it's been five and a half hours, as you said. and they are still out here looking at the crash scene. officers are conducting an investigation after a teenaged driver died after a chase with chp. now, officers say around 1:20 this morning, they tried to pull over a 19-year-old man at the intersection of international for driving recklessly and weaving. instead of obeying the chp officers, he sped off, later getting on the 880 northbound. when the driver exited from the freeway at the 29th street offramp, he crashed. officers say he was not wearing his seat belt and he was partially ejected from the car and alcohol may be related. >> it appears to
to you, welcome to mornings on 2, i am dave clark. >> i am tori campbell. it is monday, july 4th, independence day. we begin with breaking news in san francisco. firefighters continue to battle a fire there. allie rasmus joins us from the scene. >> reporter: good morning, firefighters have this fire under control. you can see behind us that building where the ladder is is where the fire started. you can see smoke, the flames are out. right now seeing firefighters exiting the building. a short time ago they were on the roof. this fire did significant damage. you can see it effected the home you are looking at look with the houses on either side so a total of three apartment buildings were burned. there are at least two apartment residences in each building so we don't have an exact number of people displaced by this fire but none of the residences were vacant at least two people in each residence or at least six people are now homeless. they also don't know how this fire started. we spoke to some of the people who live there, this fire started at 5:00 this morning, all the people

>>> well, good morning to you. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> good morning. i'm maureen naylor. tori campbell is 06 today. >>> -- is off today. >>> a 14-year-old girl died at a sleepover allie rasmus is live with more, including the soda that's becoming a big part of the investigation. >> reporter: we're live in santa rosa. this agency is investigating the 14-year-old's death. now, the four girls at the sleepover, including the victim, said they passed around a soda that taste strange. the sheriff's office determined there was an unknown substance to it. the teens were at a sleepover at a home and all four got sick during the night. they started throwing up after they drank the soda. at first, the parents thought it was food poisoning, but then on sunday, one of them would not wake up. they called paramedics. and they determined she died. the crime investigations unit are looking into the death. a cause of death for that 14- year-old girl has not been determined yet. we've put in requests with sherr 6 investigators to find out -- sherr 6 investigators to find
